7. Adding a bit of Clarity, either globally in the Basic panel, or locally with the Adjustment brush, can make the stars pop and add interest to the land.

Following these simple steps in Lightroom may be all that’s needed to perfect your image if you were able to capture adequate detail in the land in a single frame. As I described in chapter 3, however, you’ll find very often that you need to shoot two frames from the same camera position, one exposed for the sky, the other exposed for the land. Combining those two frames requires Photoshop, since Lightroom doesn’t support layers.
